    Default OpenSUSE 13.2 - DNSMASQ 2.71

After upgrading from openSUSE 12.4 to 13.2 DNSMASQ stopped working

Apparantly, the process is no longer allowed to update the log ( which is set by log-facility=/var/log/dnsmasq/dnsmasq.log ) in the conf file
    excerpt from /var/log/messages :
    ...
dnsmasq: cannot open log /var/log/dnsmasq/dnsmasq.log: Permission denied
    ...

The only quick-fix I have been able to find is to comment out i.e. not setting log-facility

I did try to chmod dnsmasq.log to 777 but no luck

    Does anybody have a clue?

    kind regards,
    Jens

As there never was an openSUSE version 12.4 it will be difficult to compare with 13.2
