How can i safely add new fonts to libreoffice

helo… i am attempting to add new fonts to libreoffice in opensuse 13.1 …i have d/l fetchmsttfonts and run the script …reading …there seems to be potential particular security issues with downloading fonts

can anyone point me to a simple tutorial for safely adding new fonts in libreoffice ?

Add new fonts to any application your user uses by dropping them in the
~/.fonts directory (which may not exist, but just create it) and then
restart the applicable program. Be sure the files you put in there are
the font files directly and not compressed/archived versions.

Downloading untrusted software of any type and using it is a bad idea.
Even files that are very safe (txt) are abused in cases with weaker
platforms to socially work past humans’ inefficient and software’s
incorrect defaults (safefile.txt.exe with hidden file extensions looks
like safefile.txt, which when “executed” runs malware).

I have never had any problems with fetchmsttfonts. If you are using KDE you can choose whether to add fonts to the system or for use by a single user; it you are worried about a particular font, install it for a particular user - LibreOffice will find it.
