But when I do ls /.snapshots I get lots more snapshots:

Many of the directories in /.snapshots only contain the file grub-snapshot.cfg


Is this normal or are somehow the information that snapper uses and the existence of the actual snapshots out of sync?
Should I delete the snapshots in the /.snapshot directory manually to prevent the harddisk from growing full?
