    Default Bash id.

    I was wondering if it's normal to have a user on the command line listed as username@linux-5uc7? Does the 5uc7 mean anything? I'm somewhat puzzled.

    No.

    Random string created during installation. You can change your computer
    name in network settings in YaST.

    And this hostname is shown to you at installation as a suggestion. And you accepted it by continuing with he installation.
