    Default RTL8723be wireless card "Firmware is not ready to run"

    I bought a Lenovo G50 laptop, its got a wireless Realtek card (pci id 10ec:b723)
    The fresh install of opensuse 13.1 didnt have a recent enough kernel so i installed kernel 3.17 from kernel.org
    From dmesg:
    rtl8723_common:rtl8723_fw_free_to_go():<0-0> chksum report fail ! REG_MCUFWDL:0x00050000 .
    rtl8723_common:rtl8723_download_fw():<0-0> Firmware is not ready to run!
    or if itry another fw i get slightly different results, but always a failure.
    Where can i get the correct fw for this wireless device? I googled and found one from a guy called finger but it doesnt work either

    The drivers for rtl8723be load and lsmod looks ok

    You can install the 3.17.x kernel from this repo as well:
    http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...table/standard

    No idea if it would make much difference regarding the rtl8723be driver though.

    But, more importantly, this repo also contains a newer "kernel-firmware" package that should match the kernel 3.17 and work.
    So I'd suggest to add that repo and install "kernel-firmware" from there. And maybe the kernel from there as well.
