Default Kmail spell checking does not work

Spell checking does not work, error message is: No language dictionaries for the language : "de"

Dictionaries are installed and spell checking works with one user login. However it does not work all other user logins.

Try to set de_DE/"German (Germany)" instead, either in KMail or globally in "Configure Desktop"/Systemsettings->Locale->Spell Checking.

There was a bug in certain KDE versions where the general language ("de"/"German" e.g.) didn't work.

    How can I do this?

    globally in "Configure Desktop"/Systemsettings->Locale->Spell Checking.
I checked the entry. There are offered two choices:
    - Deutsch
    - Englisch (US)
    How can I add de_DE?

Where do you try to set it?
Don't you see something like this?

Have you set the language in Systemsettings->Locale->Language?

What *spell packages do you have installed? (although that should be ok, as you say it is working for one account)
    Code:
    rpm -qa | grep spell
    Here it gives this:
    Code:
     rpm -qa|grep spellhunspell-1.3.2-15.4.1.x86_64
    aspell-0.60.6.1-14.1.4.x86_64
    ispell-american-3.3.02-106.1.2.x86_64
    myspell-austrian-20120607-6.1.3.noarch
    aspell-de-20120607-6.1.3.x86_64
    ispell-german-1.5-414.1.2.x86_64
    myspell-american-20100316-32.1.2.noarch
    ispell-naustrian-20120607-6.1.3.x86_64
    myspell-german-20120607-6.1.3.noarch
    aspell-en-7.1-10.1.4.x86_64
    hunspell-tools-1.3.2-15.4.1.x86_64
    ispell-3.3.02-106.1.2.x86_64
    ispell-ngerman-20120607-6.1.3.x86_64
    libaspell15-0.60.6.1-14.1.4.x86_64
Maybe running "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" would make KDE find all languages?

I did not notice the drop down menu. Now spell checking works. Both users had selected "Deutsch". One user needed to change to "Deutsch (Deutschland)", the other user still has "Deutsch" and it works too. This is really puzzling.

Well, no idea at the moment. I read something about this bug some time ago, but don't remember the details.
Maybe I can find that again...

Anyway, at least it works now for both, right?
