    Default repair cd

    Is it possible to use my Linux installation CD to repair my present installation without loosing my home folder?

    Will that red tool box set be able to repair my car?

    How can any body say? You don't say that exactly you are going to repair.

    Even if it can't, the general idea is to back up your home directory (eg with a live CD/DVD/USB), then you can always do a clean install later.
