    Default Synce - 13.1 - Install

    Hello.
    Following http://en.opensuse.org/SynCE
    I tried to run synce to connect a GPS running windows CE.
    I used to connect it on windows, usinf microsoft ActivSync.

    I have tried to install synce, from
    http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...ynchronization
    and from
    https://build.opensuse.org/project/s...t=system:SynCE
    And
    http://http://download.opensuse.org/.../openSUSE_13.1
    finally by hand adding what is missing from
    http://http://download.opensuse.org/.../openSUSE_12.1

    Here are the following errors for "sync-engine"
    Code:

    Problems connecting to Hal, is it running ?

    Error is  org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.AttributeError: Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/service.py", line 707, in _message_cb
        retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords)
      File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/synceKPM/dataserver/dataserver.py", line 623, in InitializeDataServer
        obj_paths = hal_manager.FindDeviceStringMatch("pda.platform", "pocketpc")
    AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'FindDeviceStringMatch'
    (Started in that order)

    Hi
    HAL is deprecated and no longer in openSUSE, has been for a while now. I think it's still in use for KDE3...?

    help links, which show in red in the current page. But they are simply

    There appears to be some instructions on the wiki link for KDE4, but the
    latest refers to openSUSE 11.4...
