Who uses roundcube webmail?

Hi folks,

I have installed roundcubemail 1.0.2 on an openSUSE-12.3 server with postfix, dovecot and postfixadmin.
Mailbox administration is done with postfixadmin, storing usernames and passwords in the mailbox table of postfixdb.
postfixadmin uses ‘/usr/bin/doveadm pw’ and ‘dovecot:PLAIN-MD5’ for encryption.

I can access a mail account with thunderbird/imap.

My issue is that I cannot login with roundcubemail, getting the error the imap error log:

27-Aug-2014 09:21:09 +0000]: [1B12] S: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS I

[27-Aug-2014 09:21:11 +0000]: [1B12] S: A0002 NO [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Authentication failed.

My questions:

  • how do I configure roundcubemail so that it uses postfixdb to access user and password?
  • can anyone provide a config example on how roundcubemail uses postfixdb to access user/password?

Thanks for hints

issue solved, works by supplying domain to account…

I’ve never used roundcubething, so I may be wrong. But dovecot by
default disables plain text authentication, and you seem to be using it…
