    Question hfsplus on openSUSE 13.1

I'm working with Macintosh-formatted hard drive partitions in openSUSE 13.1
The nice thing about the 3.15.7 kernel is that hfsplus is included as a filesystem module so it's pretty easy to use.

What I'm trying to do is to format a new drive as hfsplus after partitioning it.

Unfortunately mkfs doesn't seem to have a hfsplus module and there isn't anything similar.
I searched for it on http://software.opensuse.org but only found the hfsutils which only support hfs.

It appears that I require hfsprogs but I can't find an install that's suitable for openSUSE 13.1

    Thanks

It's actually in the diskdev_cmds package provided by your dear mod malcomlewis (it's originally from the Apple Open Source project)

As there was no 13.1 for it, I ran it quickly through the mill and had the build service do a "no testing, no guarantees" rebuild for 13.1:

    32bit
    Code:
    http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Miuku/openSUSE_13.1/i586/diskdev_cmds-540.1.linux3-4.1.i586.rpm
    64bit
    Code:
    http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Miuku/openSUSE_13.1/x86_64/diskdev_cmds-540.1.linux3-4.1.x86_64.rpm
Disclaimer: This is just a recompile, if it fails, kills your cat or does anything of the sort I take no responsibility :-)

    Thanks, that worked perfectly.

I formatted the disks and OS X had no problem reading them later.

PS. I saw on apple's site that the latest version of diskdev_cmds is 572.1 for OS X 10.9

540 is the newest for Linux, I took a look at the sources and they've done a completely revamp of the OS X versions source tree.

It would take a fair bit of hacking to update.
