But anyway: it seems I'll have to wait for the elimination of the bug.
Hm. I tried on 4.13.3 now, and indeed it only shows appointments for today, not tomorrow.
But the problem seems to be the same:
The forecast setting is ignored. Apparently it uses the first setting ("only today"), even if you configure something else.
If that's really the problem, it shouldn't be hard to fix. I haven't looked at the bug reports in detail, but they seem to be rather vague and not nail down the problem exactly.
It does seem to work for recurring events though. At least the birthdays from my addressbook are shown correctly 7 days before (I never changed this setting). That's why I didn't notice this bug myself yet...
And that seems to work with 31 days as well as I tried now (and even with 90 days... ).

Well, I will try again on 4.14RC when packages are available (it has been released last Wednesday, but unfortunately KDE:Distro:Factory still contains the Beta) and then take appropriate actions.
I wanted to install them anyway to test some other bug fixes.

Yes, that's exactly my problem too. If an appointment is set for future it
doesn't appear, but when the date of the appointment is reached it is shown
at this (then) recent date, though I don't remember if it always does or if
    it occurs randomly.

Same here. Birthdays are shown correctly and as I wrote already todos too.
Because the birthdays I put in are set in the particular contact and todos
also are not set in the calendar maybe only the connection
    calendar<->overview
has a bug.I don't have an understanding for coding so can't describe it
    closer.

Since the 4.14RC1 packages are still not in the repo, I decided to have a look at the code myself:
The setting was respected correctly, but the check whether a specific event is inside the specified interval was completely broken.
For recurring events a completely different code path is taken (with a different range check), so that's why they worked.

It wasn't difficult to fix, working (for me at least... ) packages are available here:
    http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...openSUSE_13.1/

You only have to install korganizer from there.

Would be nice if you could test them and give feedback.
I will then try to make sure that this fix makes it into 4.14.0.

I installed your version of korganizer and
all appointments within the chosen forecast
appeared at once (means without restarting kontact)

    I tested then as follows:

    1) Increasing the forecast:
all alredy set appointments within this new forecast are shown at once

    2) Decreasing the forecast:
all already appointments within this new forecast appear correctly

    3) Setting new appointments:
    they all appeared correctly

    3) Including a further calendar to be shown in korganizer
and setting new appointments for this calendar:
    all appointment are shown correctly

One point I realized during playing around:
    Activating/deactivating calendars by hooking/unhooking
make them visible/unvisible in korganizer, as required.
But at the overview the appointmets of an unmarked
calendar is still shown.Nothing I noticed or even thought
about before and nothing bothering me - just for
    your information.

So thank's a lot for your work, wolfi323

    and one question finally:
Do you think I could keep your version of korganizer
till 4.14.0 is installed or should I worry about
problems because of mixing packets from
    different repos?

    Yes.
That's a missing feature. Or maybe it should be possible to select the calendars in the summary plugin's settings.

Good to hear that it's working.
I have submitted my patch to KDE for review already.

I could submit it to KDE:Current (or even 13.1 updates, but we would need an openSUSE bug report for that) as well, but I'm not sure if that's worth the trouble.
KDE 4.14 (which will include the fix then I hope) will be available soon there anyway.
And it's not really a critical bug, I suppose.

    This is safe.
My package is branched from KDE:Current (with only the patch added), and is being built against the KDE from KDE:Current.
So you don't have to worry about possible problems.

When the packages disappears from my repo, you should switch to the standard one from KDE:Current instead though.
But I guess this will happen automatically sooner or later anyway because of the dependencies.

I like the KDE Kontact as all of a piece though partially may exist
better or leaner solutions. So such a small bump can't convince me
    of having an affair

So I'm fine with your patched version till 4.14 with the fix is released.
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
This will be fixed in 4.14.1, so you can switch back to the standard packages when this is released on Tuesday, according to the schedule.
