Default Palemoon browser for linux and/or openSuse

following the backlash regarding the latest changes to Firefox, Palemoon has risen to be an interesting alternative. I see that it is now available for Linux but needs to be compiled on the target system.

Did anybody try this, or is aware of an openSuse rpm ready for installation ?

    You better try MIDORI :

    http://midori-browser.org/

    Code:
    zypper in midori
firefox is extremaly memory consumer so palemoon a little bit less...

I tried Midori, but I felt that for my needs, FF/Palemoon give me a lot more options with the use of add-ons, and I don't mind sacrificing speed or memory use, to get that functionality.

He is probably referring to the changes between versions 28.0 and 29.0 - I didn't find them a serious problem, but some people griped a lot.

yes indeed. A few people griped about it but the OP saying there was a backlash is going a bit overboard.

Saw this only now (a bit late) but I am too a Suse user and former Firefox user which was severely discontented by the change to the awful Australis interface, so I move to Pale Moon. Since I had already done a Firefox upgrade "as a user" (i.e. installing under ~ instead of using the Suse-bundled release), I did the same for Pale Moon, it does provide binaries for Linux. Look on http://forum.palemoon.org. I originally installed PM 24 and then happily moved to PM 25 (this required some recompilation by the PM Linux mantainer).

If the powers that be will include PM in Suse distros it would be great, but anyhow any user can make a private installation (with no recompilation, get the binaries) very easily

So why didn't you install the Classic Theme Restorer extension and get the classic theme back?

(consulting my notes) ... I actually tried that but found it unsatisfactory to reproduce my look and feel. Pale Moon instead was perfect !
