Thread: How good is SUSE on-demand training?

  1. #1

Question How good is SUSE on-demand training?

I'm highly interested in being trained for a SUSE certification, and just getting to know the OS for more of its abilities, but I'm still looking around for the training I could use to learn the content needed for the certifications. The obvious choice for me is the on-demand training available directly from SUSE, but before I'd pay for it, I'm curious on the quality of it.

    :\
While quality is part of the training's feature list, could anyone give a short review of the on-demand courses, or possibly recommend a better one?

Well, I'm somewhat biased (as I used to work in the training department
with the guys who developed and taught those courses), but I think the
    quality is pretty good.

The On Demand training system is a combination of lecture and hands-on
labs, as I recall (it has been nearly 4 years since I left, so it may
    have changed).

You can see the course syllabus on the SUSE training website at https://
www.suse.com/training/server/ - the CLP courses are the first three
(3115, 3116, and 3117). They do a very good job of preparing you for the
    CLA and CLP exams.

Note that these are for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and /not/ openSUSE -
SUSE do not offer an openSUSE certification.
