Default How does one set up a cloud based calendar using Konact?

I would like to be able to access my Kontact calendar when I'm away from the office, and make appointment changes using my phone. It looks like Kontact can use an FTP-based calendar file. However, file monitoring will not work with an FTP-based file, so the synchronization between devices and the office system will not work.

Some on-line have suggested using dropbox. That is, install the dropbox application and place the calendar folder in the dropbox folder. While dropbox will synchronize data, and Kontact can perform file monitoring, I think this approach will corrupt the data file.

    Any ideas?

Try it with a test user and see what happens?

You can sync the calendar with Google Calendars or set up your own server to do it.

I tried the Google approach. While it syncs, the meeting organizer is no longer the default set in Kontact and has become the Google email account, and the meeting organizer cannot be changed.

    Just a thought.
My web host uses cPanel. cPanel allows for the creation of imap servers. I'm already using several imap servers for email accounts. These are being managed through Kmail.

Kontact allows for the creation of a Kolab groupware calendar using an imap server. Can a Kolab calendar interface with the cPanel imap server?

I tried creating a Kolab calendar, and the option is grayed out. I looked at the software manager and found Kolab is associated with Horde and PHP. I selected the Kolab/Horde file and about 100 other PHP files. Before I install this, will this allow Kontact to interface with the web host via the imap server? The web host can run Horde Groupware.
