    Default Cant select Primary/Extended partition on RAID 5

    hi,
    i have a super micro server whith 4 H.D.D (2.7 T each). when i set a raid5 and install SLES 11 sp3. There is no menu to select Primary or Extended partitions. and my disk lable choose automatically to GPT.

    Whats the problem? why i cant create Extended partition?

    I think you are posting in the wrong place. These forums are for opensuse, not for enterprise suse.

    With GPT partitioning, there is no such thing as an extended partition. A GPT partition table can hold many (I think its 128) primary partition entries.

    As to why GPT was chosen -- it is probably because of the size of your disks. Your disks are too large for traditional MBR partitioning.
