What do you expect to happen? What are you doing? What are those
blackboxes in the middle of the photo?

And that doesn't seem to be openSUSE you are running. Guessing, it is a
Mac with something similar to a Linux shell of some kind. And you are
writing an iso image to something called "disk3", whatever that is. But
guessing that it is an USB stick, it will take a LOOOONG time, and
during that time "dd" will print nothing to the screen.

You can check-out my solution if you really insist on using dd

    Code:

AFAIK there is no bash4 feature in that code and AFAIK Mac/Apple computers are restricted to bash3 only. Some folks manage to install their own version of bash without removing or upgrading the default bash package in their Mac system. Well at least in Linux system that code works, you can try it on your Mac . ( if it is indeed a Mac)

    Hello guys,

    Thank you for the replies.

    Notes:
    - I am on a Macbook Pro
    - My main OS and only OS is Apple's default OSX 10.10
    - Trying to install Opensuse on a external SSD.
[+] => Problem:: The problem is that I can't even get he OpenSuse to a DVD or USB. (I have tried using a DVD but when I booted in there was no options, only default... Also tried the USB but many problems)
So either getting OpenSuse to USB or DVD. How may I do this please?...

    Thank you.

Ok I'm confused. So I guess you get to the menu of the install right?

Selecting install causes black screen or freeze, Right?

Most likely a video problem. NVIDIA??

Since EFI BIOS you will not get option on the install menu. Why?? I don't no but you don't

Press e at the menu to enter edit mode

find line that start linux or maybe efilinux

go to the end of the line note it may rap so go to true eol maybe press end key

add to end a space and nomodeset

press F10 to continue (should be a prompt telling you that)

That should allow use of more general video drivers that should allow install
Until you can install the NVIDIA driver you will need to do any boots from rescue mode (found in advanced option on the boot) or use the above again.
