    Default Wow! Firefox 3D!

    Anyone seen that?

    Open a page in FF.

    CTRL+SHIFT+I

Click the cube icon in the bottom right (e.g. the top right of the inspection window)

Pan/rotate/zoom-in/out with the mouse buttons and scroll weel.

Click the cube again to restore 2D.

I never cease to be amazed

Nice playing. But does it have any use? Or is it just to use up the capacity of computer resources?

It is not 3D. It is a method for web devs to easily see the components
    of a page.

No, absolutely not. Why do you say that? :-?

Did you try it? For instance in wikipedia. It is visually ugly, but
useful for inspecting a page. Unless you see it different than what I
see here... I can post a photo.

Why is the button in Developer Tools named 3D View if it isn't 3D?

Ask those people that gave it that name. Do not believe everytthing people say, in a button name or elsewhere.

Because it is similar to a 3D view. What they do is somehow emphasize
the different components of the page, so that they appear to be at a
different "height" for the page devs and hackers to see clearly where
    they are.

Have a look at any complex page with it. Even this forum.

I can see the similarity to a 3D view...
