Default Issues with several applications after a system update

After my last system update, launching any one of several applications (chromium, steam, etc) causes the desktop to crash and brings me back to the login screen. This happens with all desktop environments I've tried. Does anyone have any suggestions? Some of these applications were open during the update, so I'm not sure if that's related or not.
    Thanks.

I notice these in the logs:

The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:

Reinstalling my nvidia drivers seems to have resolved the problem.

Nice you solved it yourself (that is allways good for your confidence).

But please next time that you come here with a question/problem, always tell which version of openSUSE you use, Else even saying that you did a "last system uopdate" isn't telling much.
