Thread: year 2038 bug

  1. #1

    Default year 2038 bug

The latest OpenBSD was recently released and one big change was fixes for nearly all year 2038 time bugs. My understanding was that this was never an issue with Linux; am I correct?

It has also been an issue with Linux; it too will need a fix. One option is to switch to 64-bit only.

I won't likely have to worry about it either!

Yes, you do. Same as you worry about pollution, work availability,
violence in the streets, wars... you do not want those problems handed
down to your offspring. You'd like to have that solved now ;-)

    Better solution: Don't have offspring.
