    Default Problem with kernel 3.15

Ok what is the secret to getting a working 3.15 kernel ?
Firefox seems to be locked. There is no sound on shutdown or reboot watchdog complains. and systemd puts its own 2 cents worth. and I have to do a hard shutdown. This is with all rc's even the vanilla and my own compilations.
It seems that /home and /var/tmp is not getting unmounted

I had a problem with a "scheduling white atomic" bug with 3.15-rc1, but that was
fixed before -rc2. I am currently running 3.15-rc3 with no problems.

I compiled linux-3.15-rc3 with sakc turbo mode and that worked. Exept for my logitech webcam. Oh well rc4 is due tomorrow

I downloaded the linux kernel 3.15-rc4 compiled and installed using sakc On boot severl apps did not work. including fire fox. I disabled pulse fire fox worked as it should. I rebooted and watchdog did not stop systemd shutdown reported that it couldn't unmount some files. I did a hard reboot recompiled the kernel using turbo mode rebooted and everything worked except for my Logitech webcam. recompiled the kernel and added the uvc driver
rebooted and had the pulse, watchdog, and systemd problem all over. My conclution is that the uvc driver is broken.

I just read this bug report, and I have some suggestions in case you need to
file a future bug. The language above is almost OK for the openSUSE forum, but
the kernel community has no idea what SAKC is, or the significance of its turbo
mode. In that venue, and the suggested linux-media@vger.kernel.org mailing list,
a clearer statement is that pulse audio, watchdog, and systemd had problems when
uvc was included, but not when it was excluded. Of course, using turbo mode
could disable a lot more than uvc. You need to verify that a kernel that fails
works when you blacklist uvc, without any other changes in the kernel
configuration! That should be done before you send anything to linux-media.

Thank you for the pointers, much appreciated. Here is the body of the email I sent
I had problems with uvc with the linux-3.15 kernel, all rc's When uvc is added I have problems with pulse audio that prevents firefox from functioning. disabling pulse audio allows firefox to work properly. on shut down and reboot watchdog does not stop and systemd says it cannot unmount some directorys. With uvc removed all works as they should.
I removed uvc from the kernel as I don't know how to blacklist.

Opps my bad I had my volume muted on my monitor. sound goes through the monitor to the speakers.
So the problem appears to be completely fixed
