Thread: VLC or any DLNA software on SUES linux enterprise server

  1. #1

Default VLC or any DLNA software on SUES linux enterprise server

Been searching everywhere for a way to do this. Found some suggested instructions for installing VLC but none of them seem to work due to missing libraries. Is there anyway to get VLC or any DLNA software on SLES? I'm really getting tired of having to copy files down to a windows workstation just to watch or play them on my TV.

This is the openSUSE form not SLES . You need to ask on that forum

    https://forums.suse.com/forum.php

Use the same log in and password

Do you have any recommendations as to where? There doesn't seem to be any relevant forums for applications under SLES and the related openSUSE link just brings me to this forum.

I haven't tried that one but I did see a thread about it that recommended this http://download.videolan.org/pub/vid...lc/SuSE/SLE11/ instead and it didn't work. That was for SLED though. Frankly I've never installed anything that didn't go through yast so not sure how to install from that repo. Have to do some research on that tomorrow and give it a try.

These are the openSUSE forums. The SLES/SLED forums are at https://forums.suse.com/forum.php as explained. When you can not find a proper place there for your problem, you should ask there in another place they have. We have no insight in their organisation.
