Flightgear not starting
Hi Everyone
I am new to OpenSUSE but have been around linux for a while. I am running openSuse 13.1 with the correct version for 13.1 on the FG dl page. It starts and then just hangs on the FG load screen. I will post my rig details later today work now. Running fgfs from a terminal it indicates a seg fault.
cheers

What does it show if you launch it in a terminal window? That's usually
the best way to help diagnose what's going on with an app that's not
starting or hanging.

Re: Flightgear not starting
Which FG version do you have installed? Many FG issues are graphics hardware related, so you should tell us more about the chipset and driver in use.
For 2.x, the following might be useful

and since this is unlikely to be an openSUSE-sepcific issue, you might want to consider widening the 'support net' and requesting help from

Yes I agree it is probably graphics, I am running an intel i7 core with an nvidia Geforce GTX 650 which supports open GL, openSUSE 13.1(bottle)(i586)32 bit, I have replaced the Gallium driver and installed the nvidia driver and still no luck . I have already looked at those links and still no joy, I have also looked at my library paths and have set and export as needed. I also have a thread started at flightgear.org. I am frustrated by my lack of experience with openSUSE and made a tactical error giving gnome a go at install I prefer kde I realise now, which of course all put together makes things a lot slower for me to find, but I will soldier on and any more feedback suggestions or CL results requests are all appreciated.

Re: Flightgear not starting
I got it up and running I think it was a lib path issue, I am not sure how to mark it solved

It's a shame you couldn't be more specific about this. It could be of help to others who come searching. We don't generally mark threads solved as such, (although you could edit the title with '[Solved]' if desired).
