installation error

i tried to install vlc but it gives an error

cannot access installation media
hd:///?device=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-1SanDisk_Cruzer_Blade_2005314673113D40D3CD-part2
(Medium 1).
Check whether the server is accessible.

I’m going to guess your original installation media is described by the path in your error and this original install source has been removed.

Disable this installation source in YAST > Software Repositories

You should then be able to install without being bothered by an install source that no longer exists.

HTH,
TSU

I agree with tsu2.

I’ve seen similar messages. I use a SanDisk Cruzer USB for my installs.

If I plug in the install USB then hit “retry”, it works. However, I usually just go into
Yast –> Software Repositories
and mark that repo as disabled. And then I never see the problem again.

Please, please, no duplicated posts. You already asked about this.
