    Default Dual processors.. multiple cores

hello, do the system OS, i.e Suse, makes good use of a system with multiple CPUs with mutiple cores, that would be the 64 bit version. I read some threads on people discovering one CPU not working on Suse.

    Hi
That is generally a hardware (BIOS) acpi issue, the current openSUSE kernel supports 512 cpu's....

By default all the linux kernel uses Completely fair Scheduler (CFS) this works well with multiple processors with multiple cores.

if you need more performance suggest you to check Brain **** Scheduler (BFS) which is an alternate scheduler for linux.

i think that SAP Hana which runs on SLES 11 SP3 uses the CFS scheduler only

thank you, I'm considering getting one with those specs, my work in graphics is starting to demand more raw power, now to check if the applications (krita, Blender, myPaint, kdeEnLive) will make effective use of the additional cores and CPU (at least 2)

    Hi
Then you probably want to investigate any tools that can take advantage
of cuda on an Nvidia card as well, many extra cores available depending
    on your selected GPU....

on the GPU, it may be an NVidia with 3 GB of ram, haven't check which model, I was going to research which one has great driver support on Suse before choosing, but most likely an NVidia.
