    Default checking the installated program

    Hello EVERYONE,

    Greetings
I am new to linux, I wish to know how to check the installed program in terminal?

I have installed a fortran program through yast, but when I check using "which fortran" command, it shows the error,
    ----------------------------
    linux-blxt:/home/visu # which fortran
    which: no fortran in (/usr/lib/mpi/gcc/openmpi/bin:/home/visu/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/games:/usr/lib/mit/bin)
    ------------------------------
please can any one help me to install the fortran package?

    Thanks in advance

    viswanathan

The name of the compiler executable is gfortran not fortran, check if
    gfortran exists.

terminal command : zypper se fortran

shows the available packages with partial name fortran

in left hand column of results the i character indicates those installed.
