OpenSuse 13.1 logging out randomly

Hello all,

My OpenSuSe 13.1 randomly logs off when doing different stuff, browsing the internet, listening some music or playing a game, no common pattern here. Somehow (freely ignore this) I feel it happens when im playing out with something related to KDE, probably when playing around with widgets and panels, or sometimes even simply moving my mouse pointer to the very top of the screen (for instance, when moving a window for it to expand).

Here is the last part of xorg old output (I had to shorting the post), I think it belongs to that crash, but please consider I am pretty much novice. This does not happen frequently, something around once every 2 or 3 hours. bad thing is: it doesn’t care what I am currently working on so I lose my job. Last time it screwed up some packages I was installing and still I am not being able to clean that mess up. I hope I can fix this so I can trust my work environment.

As you will see, I am using fglrx drivers, my videocard is a radeon 280X with updated bios, 8gb of memory ram and the rest of my computer belongs to the M5A97 EVO motherboard.

Thanks in advance,

I just happened to reproduce it twice after creating this thread. It seems it happens randomly when moving the windows (in this case, the Konsole window) to the edge of the screen so it expands, maximizes or minimizes. Playing with it randomly and bam.

It happened right after I tried to move my Konsole (terminal) to the right edge of the screen so it expands half my monitor. Tried it again now but it does not crash at will.

Just a random extra tip: a few days ago I screwed up my main KDE panel so I added it again. But, it seems now I have some hidden panel out there, such as making my notifications appear twice in the screen (it seems the notifications belonging to the old panel appear on the top left part of the screen and no, I dont have two monitors, just one 1920x1080)

See if you get the same result with the “radeon” kernel driver.

I seem to have fixed it by uninstalling the package called “xf86-video-ati”. Didn’t happen any more since then, later I enabled tumbleweed and still working flawlessly. Hope it stays that way.
