RaLink 3290 issue

Hello all. New to the forum and to OpenSuSE, but not to Linux. Have been a Ubuntu and Mint user for years. I am having an issue that I am hoping to get worked out so I can continue to use OpenSuSE. I have the RaLink RT3290 WiFi/Bluetooth card and am having problems staying connected. I am on OpenSuSE 13.1 with kernel version 3.11.6-4. I have no trouble connecting. The card was detected with no issue at all but it disconnects me, seemingly randomly. It may be 2 minutes or 30 minutes, but it never fails. I ran some (what I hope are) diagnostic commands and have the outputs so that maybe someone can help me figure out what is going on.

/sbin/lspci -nn

When it drops the connection, it loses all traces of it. When I go back to try to reconnect, it’s like the wireless card has been cut off. I have to restart to get my network back. SOMETIMES, I can log out and back in, but normally, have to restart. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You probably want to get this post moved to the wireless forum, after
reading the stickies there. AFAIK if you report your own post and ask
for it to be moved a mod will then do it.

This will be moved to Wireless and is CLOSED for the moment.

Moved from Hardware and open again.

Hello eddiekimberly,

I see you are new here. Be welcome.

Please, as said, read the stickies at the beginning of the Wireless forum. They will tell you what informatiion to post.

Also, we have a feature here om the forums that is quite important, but not easy to find for newcomers. When you post computer text, please do so between CODE tags. You get them by clicking on the # button in the tool bar of the post editor. Wheneve possible post complete, the peompt, the command, the output and the nextr prompt in one sweep between the CODE tags. It will improve readability enormous.

Thanks for the advice. This forum is waaay different than what I am used to. Update, I did look at the logfile after my last disconnect and got this message.
