Default openSUSE13.1 x86_64 cannot install on A10-7700K PC

    Hellow All openSUSE User

    My PC

    GIGABYTE GA-F2A88X-UP4 Rev3.0 BIOS F5b
    AMD A10-7700K
    A-DATA DDR3-1866 4GB x2
    Sapphire RADEON HD 7750 GDDR5 1GB
    Western Digital WD10EZEX 1.0TB x2
    A88X Onboard RAID 0
    Creative Lab SoundBlaster X-Fi XtreamGamer

Windows 7 Professional SP1 JPN clean install completed
But openSUSE 13.1 x86_64 cannot install from DVD

"Found a Linux console terminal on /dev/console (160 columns x64 lines)
    cursor blink blink blink..."

    What is this?

I know kernel 3.12 support A10-7xxx at first
Do I have to wait openSUSE 13.2 x86_64?
It is a long long long time as eternal

    sorry my poor english

    Hi
If you go through the function keys, eg ctrl+alt+F4 through F12 (F1 to
get back to install screen), you should see a kernel log showing what
    it's doing when it stops.

    Hi
So you got a kernel oops... you would need to raise a bug on that I
would guess, not sure if direct to kernel.org or openSUSE. My guess
    would be direct to kernel.org.

When the installation disc boots up to the menu, select a boot option of "nomodeset" and then proceed with the install.

Post install, upgrade your kernel to the latest from the kernel:stable repo.

After that, remove the nomodeset boot option from grub.

(optionally: you may want to upgrade the xorg and mesa components to the latest "stable" versions via the appropriate repo too ... on the one hand, there are some significant changes that will greatly improve the graphics experience for your adapter ... on the other hand, there is a bug (which appears to operate randomly) in the latest versions affecting GL abilities (and which will impact desktop effects and what not).

    Hellow Tyler_k

    I tried install with nomodeset
But I have same problem yet
    I cannot install

I tried install under 2 situations

1.Use only iGPU no other GPU on motherboard -> negative

2.Use SATA AHCI mode not FakeRAID 0 -> negative

    Thanks

Default Re: openSUSE13.1 x86_64 cannot install on A10-7700K PC

Okay. Have you tried a live CD/DVD? What about a distro with a more recent kernel (like Gears on Gallium (an openSUSE based derivative, which is built with all the latest graphics components), or Fedora (or Fedora derivative like Korora))?

In your troubleshooting, I'd suggest just concentrate your testing with getting the system to work with the APU ... once you're successful with that, then add in the additional complexity.

Else, I'd do as Malcolm suggested and (first look for) and then file (if need be) a bug report.

Why do I chose openSUSE not any other distribution?

Then opnSUSE Install DVD can detect FakeRAID Partition of AMD Chipset without
    difficult setting or configuration

    It is very user friendly
    It is very important

Now I have install problem but I am thankful to all people participate in openSUSE

    Sorry my poor english

I tried update Motherboard BIOS/UEFI latest Beta F5c

openSUSE 13.1 x86_64 Install DVD can boot without problem

    Select Language,Keyboard,Timezone...
But cannot detect FakeRAID 0 Partition
Of course I know kernel 3.11 does not support A10-7xxx APU officialy

    Thanks

I certainly reads like you're making some progress!

Can't help you with the fake raid though. Good luck with getting it working. Please keep us informed.
