Default GTK Apps Don't Use System Icon Theme

The problem is as in the title. I've done some search but couldn't find solution that works.
    I'm using NITRUX-KDE icon theme.

And happy New Year for us all

Forgot to mention that I'm using openSUSE 13.1 with KDE.

    Where is the edit button?

You have a 10 minutes window for edits. Explanation is in the FAQ.

    what apps specifically?
Are you sure those apps use the system icons?
I installed Nitrux-KDE to check in openSUSE 13.1 KDE 4.11.3 and both Firefox and Chromium used that icon set (to some extent) but other gtk apps like gimp do not - because those apps don't use system icons.

    All of them, it seems.

Here is two examples from chromium and firefox.

I found a workaround that works from here, by moving or removing /usr/share/themes/oxygen-gtk/gtk-2.0/icons4 file. And if i also move /usr/share/themes/oxygen-gtk/gtk-3.0/icons4 file, firefox use more Nitrux icons. Now it looks like this.

The only missing are next/previous page and refresh button icons. On Chromium, now it looks like using all system icons properly. How this is works anyway?

    I'm using openSUSE 123 x86_64 with KDE 4.11.3

If I select the icon set it seems to work OK in GTK apps

    here is Chromium

    Firefox and Handbrake

    SUSE Paste

    No, it is not.

See arrows, refresh and home button in your chromium. They should look like this.

Even dolphin in your screen doesn't use Nitrux folder icons.

I see what you mean - Chromium and Firefox seem to be using what I guess could be a default GTK+ theme I guess.
A KDE restart and the Nitrux icons were loaded correctly in Dolphin.

I would say that the problem is particular to Nitrux.
I tested a couple of other icon sets that seemed OK.

e.g. Ice seems to have full implementation - here is both Chromium and Firefox

    openSUSE Leap 15.1 / Plasma 5.12

I tried some other icons. But it still didn't work unless I removed those files i mentioned above.
There seems no drawback from this workaround (i backed up the original files), so I think it's alright for now.

    Thank you for helping me
