Unhappy 13.1 DVD installer locked in the first menu

    Hi.
I am trying to install the Opensuse 13.1, but the first menu of the installer is locked, so that I can't start the installation
    Thanks

    Hi thornbush,

    1) check your download with md5:
    Code:
    md5 <yourpathtoiso>
ist's supposed to be "1bd6223430910f6d5a168d4e19171462 openSUSE-13.1-DVD-i586.iso". If not, than redownload the iso.

    2) ensure it's also correct on your dvd. Many CD-bruning-tools should be able to calculate the md5-checksum.

    3) if that doesn't help, we'd need your hardware specification. Please name at least the computer vendor and model-name, your CPU and GPU and maybe if you have BIOS or UEFI running.

    Regards
    Simon

    Hi.
I have already checked it, and it is ok, as you have written.
    Thank you.

Which screen do you lock up on?

    This one?

I once saw a problem with the touch pad not being detected during the install however after the install it was working fine. Maybe you should try with a USB mouse and or keyboard as needed.

This one, yet sometimes another beautiful screen like this one but with a snow theme.
There was another screen that have passed very fast, and automatically this one.

    Just to clarify "locked"...

    Up/Down arrows don't work?

    F5 key does nothing?

    Pressing "e" does nothing?

On some PCs the USB keyboard and USB mouse will not work, unless the PC BIOS has 'legacy mode' selected for the USB devices. It may be worthwhile checking the BIOS settings of the PC in this regard.

That's what I was thinking of too. Plus, on some laptops you don't have a legacy mode to pick, but a "unlock" feature.
° Appreciate my reply? Click the star and let me know why.

° Perfection is not gonna happen. No way.

Anything works. Up, Down and any F(1-12) works. The functions menu that appears in the screen sent to me does not appear and any function key works.I have tried to type every key of the keyboard, but I did not remember "e" specifically. I will try it.Thank you.
