Thread: Restart yellow curved icon: excessive list

Unhappy Restart yellow curved icon: excessive list

The list includes the basic boot into OS, but also several options. I have four that are installed, 12.3 with kde3, 12.3 with kde4, XP, and 13.1. The last two do not show up because they are below the edge of the screen.

Yes, I know it's because of the font size, but all of us old farts have problems reading the miniscule 8 or less font size that would have all of the options visible.

What I want is a way of editing the list. The Yast bootloader does not allow you to modify the list, only restores it using either none or all of the OS possibles. Is they any way of removing the optional things leaving only the basic core?
Or, the way it is when you actually stop and restart where there is main and options as a side menu.

My only other option is to format over one of those other systems, and I will not do that until I can say the the latest is solid and does everything well.

Why do you have 2 12.3 installations?
You can install KDE3 and KDE4 side-by-side on one system...

Well, you can disable "Probe for foreign OS" in YaST->System->Boot Loader->Boot Loader Options. That should reduce the list.
But you won't be able to boot to Windows XP then anymore of course.

It's not possible to edit that list shown by the Restart button, it just shows all entries from your grub menu.
