Thread: Freeciv 2.4.1...?

    Default Freeciv 2.4.1...?

    Hello everyone!

With the release of OpenSuse 13.1 I decided to give this distro another shot. So far I am really enjoying it!

I noticed that the freeciv version in the repositories is only at 2.3.4, while the newest stable version is actually 2.4.1. Is anyone working on a package contrib? I looked in the Build Service, and read the F.A.Q. which said to ask first before duplicating someone else's ongoing efforts.

    Thanks for a great distro!
    Gary

I just checked software.opensuse.org: and it seems tumbleweed has 2.5 but that is probably not a stable version right (why does tumbleweed have it but not factory?)? So I guess no one is then or if they are its in secret

Stable Version 2.4.1 released on 30th Nov 2013
That was only a few days ago.
Too bad if there had been a new version release before 13.1 came out
    they would have built it.

Tumbleweed doesn't have it. Somebody built it for Tumbleweed (and 12.3 and 13.1) in his home repo.

freeciv has not been in the official repo since openSUSE 10.3. There is no timing problem.

User:AndreasStieger - openSUSE is the maintainer. Just ask him...

Thanks, I will try to get in touch with Andreas. Probably try IRC first.
