I was directed to some repositorieas but can not seem to install them. Would some one be so kind as to point out how it is done? THANK YOU!. Please be kind as I have moved over from Debian which is very different.

Have a look at the repository configuration in YaST - let us know if you
need more detail than that - and what specific repositories you are
    looking to add.

Generally you need 4 repos in openSUSE for any version of openSUSE and
they are version specific. I am using openSUSE 13.1

    13.1 OSS,13.1 non-Oss,13.1 update,13.1 non-Oss update

In addition if you need *restricted formats* you use packman

If you need additional software just use software.opensuse.org to search
for relevant packages /software and click on 1 click links from the same
version of repo as your openSUSE. i.e. you should not use 13.1 1Click
    install on 12.3 etc...

All repo related maintenance(add/edit/delete) should be done using YaST
    ==>Software Management

zypper/command line commands for those who have come from other distros :-

*Never* use factory repo. It will lead to man issues including not being
    able to boot to GUI

to add a repository (permanently) go to

Yast > software repositories > add > specify URL

copy in the url - it is usually up to the openSUSE release point.
    e.g. "http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Extra/openSUSE_13.1/"

Give it a name (anthing that helps you recognise it), and OK out.

I'd be careful about adding any repo though. Generally they are not needed because you can find needed software that isn't included n the main repos / packman from software.opensuse.org: Search

People ITT told you how to do it with YaST but you can also use zypper directly to add repos. To find out how check out this great cheat sheet that is provided by the community:
