Thread: Long Delay With v. 13.1

Default Long Delay With v. 13.1

    I just upgraded from v. 12.3 to v. 13.1 (64-bit) using the DVD method.

There is a long pause after I make my selection in the GRUB2 screen and before the appearance of the login screen. The pause is about 70 seconds! This problem already existed when I had v. 12.3 installed, and I just decided to put a stop to this.

Any ideas as to what could be causing such a long delay?

Install the package "systemd-analyze" if needed and have a look at the output of:
    Code:
    systemd-analyze blame
You can see then what service takes so long to start.

Do I have to add a special repository for downloading systemd-analyze? YaST2 -> Software Management does not find it...

sometimes, as soon as you have started the boot process from grub, hit Esc.
you see boot messages, you may see the delay and message associated with it

I am not much of an expert but there seems to be a problem with the network service. Any suggestions as to how to rectify the problem?

I'd suggest using kde's network manager
    try adding the loopback https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...k/Hostname.png

    also disable IPv6
    reboot
