Was wondering if others have a similar issue of Phonon backend gstreamer causing system instabilities? I'm running Opensuse 13.1 x64 with Phonon backend gstreamer (phonon-backend-gstreamer-0_10 version 4.7.0-2.4.1-x86_64). Then playing a video in Digikam the system crashes. The video plays at first then on selecting the second clip the application crashes. Using the Phonon backend VLC the issue goes away. There is an update within the Updates but this doesnt solve the issue. Do you too have this issue?

Here are two terminal outputs:

:~>digikam
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work.

And alternatively using PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=60 as suggested to fix the Skype issue.

In the meantime I'm therefore using the VLC backend. Do we know if a fix is being work on?

Confusingly a similar issue is raised for another distro here This was discarded as a bug and an update is referred to?
