Read it for yourself at the source. It is not exactly that.

Right, but it is a single line.

No, it just shows the contents of the file.

I simply used the same terminal to do it all. You can use any terminal
    in any directory.

This trick, by the way, does not work in 12.3 out of the box, it needs
certain patch that was distributed later. 13.1 should have it out of the
    box.

Thanks for all your help, Carlos. My 12.3 system is up and running with unison now, just fine. I appreciate it very much that you stuik with me and sorted out what was actually going, despite our misunderstandings.

    Thanks again.

Really though, Unison has not been really changed or supported from 2008?? or so. Given the current circumstance it is unlikely that it will work in the long term with any reliability, you should transition to something else.
When you have something that for years has just worked, you're not inclined to "transition to something else" without making an effort to make it go again. Your comment is unwarranted, since it wasn't unison that broke, but the developers that changed where usb drives were found. I like unison, I like the way it works, and plan to use it for the forseeable future. If the threads annoy you, just ignore them.

I, for one, appreciate the help I got here making it work again.

For anyone still watching this thread, I find that the GUI interface to Unison directory setup is working again with 13.1 and KDE 4.13.0.

I have not tried it in a while (used cli method), so can't say when it was fixed.

Sorry, to late to delete post - No, not working yet; seems OK for edits but not create new Profile
