Question View IE only web pages in Firefox or Chrome

    Hello

I haven't posted in a while because I've usually found the answer I was looking for before I had a chance to start a new thread. However, today is not the case. Currently, I am attempting to take a few MOAC labs which (as you may know) requires Internet Explorer. I recently had an extension "ie tab" installed in my chrome browser and it was serving the purpose of allowing me to view internet explorer only (or ie required to browse) pages. Suddenly, it doesn't work today. I'm just asking if there are any other alternatives for either Chrome or Firefox that supports Linux... available.

Summary of question: "Does anyone know of any add-ons or extensions compatible with Linux (openSUSE)* which allow you to view web-pages specific to ie or windows only?"

    Details:

    OS: openSUSE 12.3
    Architecture: 64-bit
    Original OS: Windows 7
    Dual-boot status: N/A (100% openSUSE)

    Browser(s): Google Chrome & Firefox 25.0 (up-to-date)
Reason for query: to access MOAC labs

Comments: cannot access this link: http://moac.microsoftlabsonline.com without Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher.

Thank you for the reply. I don't understand why two days ago the "ieTab" extension was working and now today it is Windows Only? are you kidding me? Windows sux. But, I'll keep looking around to find something. I did find a workaround but I realized it was buggy and not even worth the trouble. "ies4linux" bomb! There has to be something out there besides a virtualOS, which I think may be my only other option.

Doesyour website need IE's capability or is it enough that a browser
identifies itself as IE(i.e. Firefox and SeaMonkey can be made to
identify themselves as IE to the website)

I am not sure what you are trying to do; most browsers manage to interpret IE pretty well because they have had to for years. For example, Konqueror has never had any trouble displaying my Internet Bank's site which is designed solely for IE.

sorry - no help to you, but the latest browser usage stats . . .

    IE 11.7%
    Firefox 27.2%
    Chrome / Chromium 54.1%
    Other 7%

If a website is refusing anything but IE then it is asking to go out of business (and deserves to go out of business).

seems to work in Konqueror with browser ID set to IE7 XP (at least the initial page).

I tried installing IEtab in Chromium (that you said was working for you up until a few days ago) but on installation completion I got this message.

Sorry, IE Tab Not Supported on Mac/Linux :-(

We're sorry, but please don't bash our review score! The Chrome Web Store does not allow us to specify supported platforms in the listing, and our description says "WINDOWS ONLY, WINDOWS ONLY". It would be more productive to send feedback to the Chrome Web Store suggesting they allow extensions / apps to specify the platforms they support.
