Default how to install moonlight for openSuSE 12.3

    hello,

for work - i have to access a specific site that runs Silverlight.

i have read about moonlight - but cannot seem locate the correct repo that will allow me to install the open source equivalent (moonlight / pipelight).

has anyone done this for 12.3?

    thx

    hello,

i did read through the information.

i added the repo and then ran in to some issues while trying to install wine-gecko. no matter how many times i installed wine-gecko - i was not able to do a successful install of pipelight.

each time i would install pipelight - it would say that i had not satisfied the dependency on wine-gecko.

eventually (out of frustration) i opted to select the radio button that asked me if i wanted to proceed with the installation of pipelight with the potential of breaking it.

after installing pipelight - i opened firefox and attempted to navigate to the web site that our "partner" company has (using Silverlight). however when i attempt to open the site - it no longer gives me an error - but it just comes up - all black

at this point i am not sure what to do - it would be nice if i could get a "clean" install of with pipelight and wine-gecko

my bad - i did not read the _entire_ thread.

i added the necessary repo so i could pull in the correct wine-gecko dependency

all is well - the Silverlight site comes up just fine (albeit very slowly).

    many thanks

The browser(Firefox/24.0 SeaMonkey/2.21) addon based approach by
installing xpi(gecko based) also works for me in the below sample webpage

    xpi files are here:-

Does anyone have this working with time warner live tv?

Silverlight Balls is fine, but on time warner it "starts" to load like on doze, but then gives me a blank white screen...

Chances are Time-Warner uses DRM, and Moonlight doesn't support the DRM
    stuff necessary.

If that is DRM stuff it probably works with pipelight
    http://forums.opensuse.org/content/1...use-howto.html
I have it installed for a german video on demand service which uses
Silverlight and DRM for the videos and it works for that, maybe that
    works for Time-Warner too.
I had to uninstall Moonlight before because it did not play well
together with pipelight in the same browser.
