    Default Thunderbird ver 24 formatting

I have used Thunderbird for many years as a desktop client for managing multiple SMTP and IMAP accounts.

With the recent release of version 24 (from ver 17; I guess they wanted to catch up to Firefox?) I have a cosmetic issue I can't find how to tweak.

Pardon my terminology: I'll describe my window layout as a Folders pane (on left side), a Main pane on the right with a Prevue pane below the Main, which can be toggled on/off with F8. Menus and Tabs across the top. I'll say this is the default view, but only because I probably chose this in the distant past and stuck with it.

My question relates to the Main pane, which is a scrollable list of the messages in a chosen Folder, Inbox, for example.
Up thru and including ver 17, the row background alternated between white and light grey, making the list much easier to scan with the eye, both horizontally and vertically. Dolphin has a similar highlighting scheme(and still does).
With the arrival of ver 24, the alternating background is all white.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone know how to change it back to white/grey alternating?
It is probably some sort of visual affect parameter, tweakable in View:About, but I don't know the correct terminology for what this is called.

I don't think this is a desktop Theme or settings issue, since I have not been playing there of late and Dolphin, for example, has not changed.
My Desktop Theme is Air openSUSE

    Thanks!

I believe this is set by the theme.
I never noticed until I read your post but yes, it has gone for me too.
The latest update of the default Thunderbird theme seems to have removed it.
You can get it back by switching to an alternative Thunderbird theme.

I have never played with Themes in Thunderbird before.
Seems a lot of the popular ones are not (yet) compatible with ver 24, but I found one that gets my horizontal lines back.
Select Tools-AddOns-Appearance tab, very similar to Firefox.
