Default adding the camera in the notebook (samsung q 210): how to?

    hello dear linux experts

    i run opensuse verion 12.3 on a samsung notebook - version q 210

one week ago i installed skype for linux on the machine - i guess it is called skype for linux versino 4.xy

all went well and now i am happy that i can use skype.

but one thing is left. the video signal.

note: i have a little camera in the notebook - in the samsung notebook q 210

question: how to activate it? How to to bring it to work? What is needed?

Many thanks for any and all help

    greetings

    lin

you kinda need to tell us what you have done so far....i mean, here
all i had to do was open Skype's "Options" area, the select "Video
Devices" and then click to check mark enable "Enable Skype Video",
Start my video automatically when i am in a call", select the WebCam
in the spinner, etc etc etc and click "Test"..

    here http://susepaste.org/52815714 it just worked,

where did it go wrong for you?

Glad to read DenverD's advice worked for you

As a point of interest for other's who may read this thread, dilberone's webcam is this:
    Code:
    Bus 001 Device 002: ID 174f:5931 Syntek
The openSUSE page for webcams is here: https://en.opensuse.org/HCL:Web_cameras and the openSUSE page for installing Skype is here https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Skype:

and according to this openSUSE web page for wecams, one goes here to check if one's webcam is supported by the UVC driver: Linux UVC driver & tools

and in this case, the 174f:5931 Syntek webcam IS a UVC (USB Video Class) compatible webcam and hence it should work 'out of the box' with openSUSE (as the UVC webcam driver comes with the kernel provided by openSUSE).
