Thread: KDE replacement for Bluefish

    Default KDE replacement for Bluefish

    Hi,
I recently moved to KDE from Xfce and I'm trying to use mostly KDE applications. When I was using Xfce I used Bluefish a lot and I wonder if there's a similar application for KDE. At this time I keep using Bluefish and I tried Kate, Kwrite, Kdevelop and none of these offer all the features Bluefish offers (i.e. HTML tags inserts). Quanta which could be a good alternative seems to be discontinued.
    Thank you in advance,
    Luis Pablo

There is little out there I'm afraid, regardless of if you use kde or gnome etc...
I even have the Adobe CS4 Suite in windows, but I still prefer a text editor.
My sites were built with mostly gedit, kate and or bluefish.
Bluefish works in kde fine here BTW

Although discontinued, you can still use Quanta, it is even included in openSUSE (package name: "kde3-quanta").

The Quanta developers decided to convert it into a set of plugins for kdevelop4, but that never was finished.
And not all of the plugins are included yet, some are in a very experimental state AFAIK. (see here if you're interested: Niko's Blog: Quanta update)

Bluefish runs fine in KDE (and all other DEs i am aware of)...if you
are used to it and like it, stick to it.

if not: there is no KhttpEditor like there is a KWrite or etc..

Been using Bluefish with KDE on openSUSE since 2006 without issues.
