i am running opensuse 12.2 on a lappy.
now i want to upgrade.
note; i have some important things on the lappy.
Thunderbird enigmail with kpgp
well do i need to do someting special in order to make all upgrade processes safe.
note i do not want to loose the mails or the passwords or something elese
qestion: how to safe all the data
is there a special way to safe tbird (with enigmail ) in a single step!?
And after this was done: how to upgrade opensuse 12.2 to 12.3
online with zypper dub
or offline with the dvd - note i allready have one

Make a good backup on another media, and verify it.

If you only need to keep thunderbird emails and things, you have to
backup the entire directory “½/.thunderbird/”.
How exactly to do that depends on what media you have available.
For example, if you use a usb stick formatted as FAT, then first you
need to archive the directory using something like tar, or a GUI like
Q7Z, ark, fileroller… If your destination is a Linux filesystem, you
can use, for instance, rsync (CLI), luckybackup, etc.

It is your choice, whatever you are more comfortable with. I use the
offline method.
