Thread: possible to install .deb format

  1. #1

Default possible to install .deb format

Running openSUSE 12.2. Have downloaded JustCloud_64.deb - as the name says, a utility for cloud storage and backup. They provide only one Linux format package, Debian.

Can I install that .deb format and, if so, how?

    Thank you and best regards,

You could try converting it to an rpm with alien (which should be available in one of the OBS repos)

yes, alien is sometimes (most times? often times?) successful, but
    not always..

if you are not happy with the way JustCloud runs once installed, you
might do one of two things:

    1. install and run it in a Debian based distro

    2. instead install and run OwnCloud in openSUSE.....OwnCloud it the
SUSE/openSUSE native application, read more here
    http://en.opensuse.org/SDBwnCloud
    and
    https://www.google.com/search?q=site...e.org+owncloud
