Default need to view gwenview dropdown menus?

I don't know when it happened, but since the last time I used Gwenview
for something more than just viewing and now, suddenly the dropdown
menus have disappeared. I used to use them often for batch processing of
photos - resizing them before posting them on the web. Now the dropdown
menus are gone. Can anyone tell me how to get them back?

I don't even know how to tell you which version of Gwenview I am using
because there are no dropdown menus to look on the "about" setting.
Well, ok, from the command line, I find that I am using 4.10.0.

    Thanks in advance!

it sounds like some kind of corruption in the config file, so if you
    were to

    -shut down gwenview

-issue the following in a user terminal
    Code:
    rename ~/.kde4/share/config/gwenviewrc
    ~/.kde4/share/config/gwenviewrc.BAK
    -restart gwenview

it _might_ then regenerate an uncorrupted config file...and again
    show you the menus

hmmm...you could (or course) do the same thing in Dolphin or your GUI
file manager of choice....the same thing being to rename the file to
    something else..

the reason i suggest rename (whereas other might say to just delete
it) is if what i suggested does not work at the very least you should
be able to go back in and rename gwenviewrc.BAK to gwenviewrc and at
least have a gwenview without that menu which you can then TRY the
    next helper's prescription on.

welcome...and remember this strategy (rename the config file) the
next time something like this happens to your system..

but NOW you have to wonder how and when that file got corrupted (as
far as i know that file has never mysteriously become corrupted on my
    system!)
