  1. #1

Default Ip of Brother printer ?

    Hi.

Having a Brother dcp-j104w wireless printer.

I have tried to change it's IP address:

    Code:
    Devices on network
      0 SCANNER "DCP-J140W" I:192.168.1.14
    linux-z96b:~ # brsaneconfig4 -a name=SCANNER model=DCP-j140w ip=192.168.1.12
    "SCANNER" is already registered.
How do I change that IP address ?

You have to redo the brsaneconfig but fist to remove the existing config.

    Code:
    brsaneconfig4 -r SCANNER
See brsaneconfig4 in your terminal to be sure about the command

Or maybe manually change the ip in
    /usr/local/Brother/sane/bersanedevice4.cfg (mine is brsanedevice3.cfg)
People who do not break things first will never learn to create anything
