Trying to install Lexmark printer. Have downloaded driver from Lexmark. Installed the ppd_file and system seems to like it. Problem I am having is the next step is Configuring Printers in CUPS. It says to open a browser and then …http://localhost:631/admin....every time I do that it gives an internal server error. I tried http://127.0.0.1:631/admin but have the same error. Then I left the admin part out and the Cups page comes up. But any link on that page will give the internal server error.
I tried both firefox and konqueror
New installation of opensuse 12.3…what gives?

What version of CUPS. Have you done all the updates on 12.3 after
install. I use CUPS 1.5.4 with openSUSE 12.3 with no issues. Does the
cups page ask for a password?
Is the printer seen in YaST–>hardware–>printers?
I use a brothers printer and have to install the drivers first thru
YaST. Is the ppd shown in /etc/cups/ppd/ folder?
Not sure if this will help, but some things to look at.
CUPS 1.54 No printer showing in printers. All updates are in. No the cups page does not ask for a password. I cannot login using the Admin part of http://localhost:631/admin...It just says internal server error. And no the ppd file is not in the ppd folder. I will have to try to load the ppd again sounds like.
Tried to install cups ppd again and still not showing in /etc/cups/ppd/…I have double checked and it is the correct file from Lexmark. It says it is installed so it must be going somewhere else. I will look further into this and have to find the ppd.
You asked " Is the ppd shown in /etc/cups/ppd/ folder?"…It does not show there. I did a search and found the ppd file in the folder that I just extracted the installer from. Its in a folder called Global ppd… But the funny thing is that it was there before I used ./install_ppd.sh…ppd files are not on this computer other than there.
I tried to open cups config but do not have permission and dont know how to get it…

I would have a look at the cups logs (/var/log/cups/*)
