Default libreoffice can't edit user data

    OpenSuse 12.1 LibreOffice 3.5 (build-413)
If I open Tools-Options-LibreOffice-User data I can't edit the data.
I installed libreoffice again but still ca't edit user data.
I deleted /home/myName/.config/libreoffice and started the program again.
The entry is recreated but without asking for user data or giving the option to edit.
All the fields in "user data" are empty.
Any suggestions where I can find/edit my user data?
    Thanks in advance Teunis

Do you have java installed ?
Can you create a new user and check whether this problem does occur for new user too ?

    Yes java is installed.
    It is getting stranger:
Another user on the same machine is able to edit his user data!

    Do
    Code:
    su -c 'chown YOUR_USERNAME_HERE /home/YOUR_USERNAME_HERE/ -R'
    and try again.

i'll guess the user who has no problem with setting LibreOffice user
data has never messed up the permissions in their /home as root,
leaving parts of it owned by root..

    I tried your code snippet.
It tells me cannot access /home/my name/.gvfs permission denied
    It did not work

Please copy-paste the entire sequence, from command to the next empty
command prompt, and put all of it inside codetags.

Please use code tags for printouts and commands. Advanced editor, '#'
    button.

And a hint: classical Linux tools do not say anything on success, only
on errors. My guess is that the code succeed on all files and
directories, except on one, and told you so.

    So try again with libreoffice.

    Code:
    teunis@linux-8nsb:~> su -c 'chown teunis /home/teunis/ -R'
    Password:
chown: cannot access `/home/teunis/.gvfs': Permission denied
The .gvfs directory looks strange Here an output of the command "~/home/teunis # ls -l"
    Code:
    -rw------T 1 teunis users 328 Feb 6 2012 .gtkrc-2.0-kde4
    d????????? ? ? ? ? ? .gvfs
    drwx-----T 2 teunis users 4096 Apr 1 09:50 .hplip
Still no edit possibility in LibreOffice user data
Does anyone has an idea where the user data are saved in:
    /Home/.libreoffice/3-suse/user
    Thanks for your attention

AFAIK the .gvfs is not the issue, though it's permissions are weird indeed. '
The user data are stored in /home/teunis/.config/libreoffice. Please show output of
    Code:
    ls -ld /home/teunis
    ls -ld /home/teunis/.config
    ls -ld /home/teunis/.config/libreoffice

Not really - .gvfs is a FUSE filesystem, and FUSE filesystems are only
available to the user who mounted them.
