    Default Adobe Air on 12.3

    Hi,
and Yes I know it is not supported by Adobe anymore.

I use a really good music streaming service called Wimp (lame name) from Norway and it is based on Adobe Air.
Using 12.2 I did succeed to install it before doing any updates , installed it during the fist week after 12.2 was ready.
There is one update to 12.2 I can not install now, the libxml2 update (openSUSE-2012-854 - libxml2) this would break the libxml2 32 bit driver I need.

However, I would like to run 12.3 since it really seems to be nice and I did install it on another laptop the only issue I have is that I can not use Adobe Air.

Any suggestions on this matter? would Wine be the best bet? and no I will not run Visualized licensed Operating Systems for this issue.

    Cheers

    According to http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?
sClass=application&iId=5842 Air should work under WINE, so that's
    probably your best bet.

    Thanks Jim,

Installed Wine and successfully installed Air, now I just have to install the actual .air application.
    Will report back when done.

Running Adobe Air under Wine works great !

I had to search foe a bit until I found the installer under cProgram Files x86\Common Files\AdobeAir\version\1.0\ (I think it was, this is from memory)
Running that installer I then could install my .air file just fine and now it just works.

    Cheers

I have solved this problem without WINE.
my opensuse is 12.3 x64 gnome version.
I found AdobeAIRInstaller.bin need one or some libraries which are also needed in adobe reader.
but I am not sure which one.

    zypper install acroread

    need some other lib

    zypper install libgnome-keyring0-32bit
    zypper install rpm-build
    zypper install libkwalletclient.so.1

    need some links

    ln -s /opt/kde3/lib/libkwalletclient.so.1 /usr/lib/libkwalletclient.so.1
    ln -s /usr/lib/libnss3.so /usr/lib/libnss3.so.1d
    ln -s /usr/lib/libssl3.so /usr/lib/libssl3.so.1d
    ln -s /usr/lib/libsmime3.so /usr/lib/libsmime3.so.1d
    ln -s /usr/lib/libnspr4.so /usr/lib/libnspr4.so.0d

    finally

    chmod +x AdobeAIRInstall.bin
    ./AdobeAIRInstall.bin

maybe some required libs have been installed by other software.

(i know you didn't know, or you would have done different, so i ask)
in the future please don't post large passages here as bold because
they turn to all capitals in one venue... and can loose correct
    spacing everywhere..

instead, post computer text and command line entries inside "code
tags"...which you can read about here: http://goo.gl/i3wnr

code tags preserve both the case and layout for all members..

    thanks

    Hey,
yes, this is the right way. I have also done so. Special Thanks!
For faster understanding for other users:
    After install AdobeAir,
    go to the directory "/home/example-user/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Adobe AIR/Versions/1.0/",
run "Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe" with wine (right mouse button) and than take the install file of a program like example.air

    ciao
