i am using openSUSE 12.2 and it ships GNOME 3.4.2. How come you are using 3.2 on 12.2
Also i doubt whether awn is compatible with GNOME 3.4.2 or 3.6.3 on openSUSE 12.3 as last release was on "Awn 0.4.0 released! on 2010-04-12"

If you want just want a "dock"(docky, cairo) and not worried about whether it is avant or not then you might try this:-
    Code:
    su -
    zypper in cairo-dock cairo-dock-plugins cairo-dock-plugins-gnome-integration docky docky-hamster-applet
    Screenshot,right hand-side is cairo(no-openGL),bottom one is docky

One more thing is Docky prevents activation of Activities window using left win key. It probably catches all key strokes :-(
    Cairo dock doesn't do this
