Default How do I change authorization setting for Apper

I saw in another thread in the "boot login" forum about how root access
is no longer required for Apper, and someone also mentioned that it is
also no longer required for the "gnome applet" (whatever that is).

So I went to KDE SystemSettings -> Actions Policy to change it, like
someone also mentioned, but I don't know which setting to change and
where. There are 4 things listed:

    Code:
    org.freedesktop
    org.opensuse
    org.kde
    org.gnome
There are several subheadings under all of these as well. I found under
org.freedesktop -> the PackageKit Project -> Update Packages was set to
Active Console = Yes, and I changed it to "Administrator Authentication
(retain)". Is this correct? Should I pick the Administrator
Authentication without the "retain"? What does "retain" mean?

    That looks correct.

I think "retain" is supposed to mean that it will remember for future sessions. There's a related check box on the polkit auth window. I don't think "retain" actually works.

Ok, thanks. I will see if it does what it is supposed to do!
